Is this the Print on Demand Tool we’ve been Waiting for?

We all know ChatGPT by now I suppose.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, and this week they have released something new, something magnificent:

Meet SORA

With SORA, you can generate realistic, impressive videos with simple text instructions.

What?! Yep!

Check out this one for example:

Prompt: Several giant wooly mammoths approach treading through a snowy meadow, their long wooly fur lightly blows in the wind as they walk, snow covered trees and dramatic snow capped mountains in the distance, mid afternoon light with wispy clouds and a sun high in the distance creates a warm glow, the low camera view is stunning capturing the large furry mammal with beautiful photography, depth of field.

One more for fun:

Prompt: Animated scene features a close-up of a short fluffy monster kneeling beside a melting red candle. The art style is 3D and realistic, with a focus on lighting and texture. It would also be possible to create a video starting from an image, or to extend existing videos.

Basically, we will even be able to create whole movies with it! How insane is that?!

Yes — according to the developers, Sora can generate “complex scenes with multiple characters, specific movements and precise details”. Sounds like a movie to me.

Access for only a limited number of creators

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said via X, that the company will give “a limited number of creators” access to the tool as a test.

He showed a bunch of videos that were generated via Sora — both realistic and unrealistic.

So how can we — Print on Demand Sellers — Use this tool to our advantage?

Well, on platforms like Etsy, the usage of Videos is becoming more and more important.

Listings that include videos tend to:

Get ranked higher
Have better SEO

And most importantly:

Sell more!

Imagine…

Imagine now you’ll be able to give your own design “as input” to Sora, and then create a prompt like “A stylish woman walks down a New York street. She wears a black t-shirt of the brand Gildan 5000, with on this t-shirt the uploaded design — centred. She wears a pair of jeans and black boots, and carries a black purse. She wears sunglasses and red lipstick. She walks confidently and casually. The street is damp and reflective, creating a mirror effect of the colorful lights. Many pedestrians walk about but the focus is on her.”

Okay, I got most of this prompt from a video on SORA’s page, but we can use it as an inspiration. Besides, once you have a prompt, you can use it for ALL your mock-ups!

But how cool would that be?
