Revenue Report after 2 Months of Monetization
In December 2023, I monetized a new YouTube channel.

Back then, I earned $7,58 after 2 weeks of monetization.
But what about now — 2 months after monetization?
Recap of Monetization Journey So Far
I started this channel in June 2023.
It took me 7 months (June — December) to be able to monetize.
Could I have done it faster? Maybe.
So what was the reason that it took so long to monetize?
My guess: AI generated content.
During the first few months, I was using AI generated voice-overs. And truth be told — they were simply horrible.
Then why did I do it? Well, to cut costs. YouTube Automation costs a big amount of money: I paid $500 per month for AI-generated videos for my channel.
Today, I have a real VOA (Voice Over Artist), however I’m now paying a lot more… I guess for quality you have to pay.
Factors Influencing Revenue
Before revealing my revenue numbers, I quickly want to go over some factors that determine your revenue.
Generally, YouTube revenue depends on following factors:
- Number of views
- Watch time per video
- RPM of your niche
Here are my numbers:
This mapped to me:
- Amount of views in the last month: 46k
- Average watch time per video: 2:37 min
- Average RPM of my channel: $1.42 (note: this increases over time)
As of the RPM — it’s difficult to find exact numbers here, but here’s a page that attempted to give a summary.
According to that page, my RPM should increase to between $3–4.
But as I said, it’s hard to put a number on it.
Actual revenue
So, how much has my revenue increased in 2 months?
To be honest, not much:
My TOTAL revenue as of today is $63.34.
I must admit I’m a bit disappointed.
I’m putting close to $1000 per month in YouTube Automation (yes I have a team of video editors etc that I hired via Fiverr, which costs me a lot of money).
And to get $63.34 in return.. seems like a bad investment.
However, I’m not giving up.
Also, as you can see, it’s increasing!
To be honest, I don’t really understand how these totals are calculated, because if I add these numbers together, then I get a total of $90.29…
Then where does that $63.34 come from?
No idea…
Future plans & Goals
So, what do I plan on doing with this channel?
Stop it? Take this 1k a month and go travelling instead of putting it in YouTube?
I could… Sounds very tempting… but no.
I’ll just be stubborn and keep going with it.
I mean, I see some progress, so that’s good.
ALSO, another channel that my team is working on has suddenly, randomly “picked up”. Just ONE video, all of a sudden got 150k views.
And the result:
That’s almost $500 for just one video.
So yes, it can go fast. Really fast.
What did I learn?
YouTube Automation is a slow game. It takes time.
Recently, a guy contacted me who wanted to get started. I told him about my channel(s), and I basically told him the story that I’ve now written down in this article.
After hearing this, he got discouraged. I don’t blame him — I get discouraged often when I see this.
However, I have the money at the moment — thanks to my Print on Demand income, so I’ll just keep investing in it 🙂
