How to use your content, time, skills and money as effective as possible to make MORE money!

I’ve been in the “Make Money Online” scene for a couple of years now. I’ve had success with Print on Demand, YouTube Automation, Crypto investing (and staking), Shopify web shops, selling products, and more.

But now, I have a new plan that will combine almost everything that I’ve learned over the years.

I’ve seen countless articles “How I Make 5k / Month on YouTube”. Or “Make $5000 per Month with Affiliate Marketing”.

Sounds familiar?

While I know that these things are of course possible, I believe that I can make it more effective, and “weave everything together” into one nice well-oiled money machine.

I’ll combine Medium writing, digital products, newsletters, YouTube and affiliate marketing, all in one!

Medium Content writing + YouTube Automation + Affiliate Marketing = Unlimited Money Machine

Feel free to copy this strategy.

The Plan

My plan is build a community and gain followers by providing valuable content, sharing knowledge and engaging with them.

Now, this plan is going to focus on 2 things:

1. Provide valuable content, I sincerely want to help people.
2. Earn money while doing so.

I’m not going to sugar coat it, and it’s probably one of the main reasons why you’re following this blog — because you want to make money — correct?

What we need to get started

1. Create a (new) Medium account
2. Create a (new) YouTube channel of the same name
3. Create a (new) Substack account (optional in first phase)
4. Create a (new) personal blog website (optional in first phase)
5. Create a (new) Gumroad account (optional in first phase)

The process

Step 1 is to start writing content. Write about something you’re passionate about.

For me, I’m passionate about Print on Demand, creativity, health, investing, making money… and all that kind of stuff.

So:

1. Start creating content that relates to this topic and your passions on Medium.com
2. Create valuable content for your audience on a weekly basis, preferably even more. I like to post 3 times per week.
3. Keep focussing on this, until you’ve built a small audience of around 100 followers
4. If you’ve got 100 followers, you can join the Partner Program to start monetizing your content (read this article for more info about that, you’ll need to do some manual stuff).
5. Monetizing your Medium content shouldn’t be your primary focus, however it’s always nice to get rewarded for the time and effort you’re going to put in your content.
6. Add a subscribe link to your articles. You want people to sign up, subscribe, follow you, for example:

Reached the 100 subscribers threshold?

Cool, don’t forget to monetize your Medium content, and then it’s time for the next step of our plan:

YouTube.

Repurpose your content for YouTube

We want to create a YouTube channel and repurpose our Medium content on YouTube.

Why?

Well, you basically already wrote your script, right? All we need now is some footage, a voice-over and a thumbnail.

For the footage, you can simply create a slideshow, use canva pro, any AI app, or just your own face that’s talking. You can share your screen, read a text… anything!

If you don’t like to use your own voice, just use any of the hundreds AI Voice Tools that are available, like beta.elevenlabs.io – they are really good.

• From your best performing articles, create one long-form video (longer than 10 minutes) per week and publish it to your YouTube channel
• Link your Medium articles in the description section of your YouTube videos
• Link your Substack page in YouTube
• Link your digital product or eBook (via Gumroad) in YouTube
• Link your own website in YouTube
• You can also promote your YouTube channel through your Medium content newsletter.
• Add a call to action in the description of all your YouTube videos.

YouTube Automation

If you don’t have the time or skill to create your YouTube videos yourself, then you can always outsource it.

You can simply hire the necessary people on Fiverr.com or Upwork.com and have them do everything for you. Use your profits from Medium & Affiliate marketing (which I’ll discuss later in this post) to invest in YouTube.

How will we earn money?

Probably the number 1 question you’re asking yourself.

Well, by using the all-known everyday methods:

• Via Medium monetization
• Via YouTube monetization
• Via selling digital products like eBooks, planners, notebooks
• Via affiliate marketing
• Via a paid newsletter (Substack)

Keep going

By now, you should be writing at least 3 Medium articles per week, and creating 1 YouTube video from the best-performing articles of around 10 minutes length.

Keep doing this until you gain more followers.

Now it’s time to convert your followers into “paying followers”. You can do this in a few ways:

1. By offering them a service or a product
2. By having them subscribe

First, we need to create a digital product.

Creating a digital product

Why a digital product first, and not first focus on paying subscribers?

Simple: you can offer this digital product for free, if people subscribe to you!

But what should you create? These 2 things:

1. An eBook, containing most of the knowledge you’ve been sharing in separate articles, but now all combined
2. A planner, journal, workbook — that will help your readers in their journey. For example a Google Sheets worksheet on how to manage your YouTube Video creation finances, your ideas, your costs, expenses, revenue etc.

3. (optionally) anything else that you can come up with.

Number 1 and 2 are really a must-have. Make sure you get it done.

• Offer these products for sale on Gumroad.com
• Add links to these products in your YouTube videos
• Add links to your new blog posts
• Re-edit your old, bad-performing blog posts and add links.

Start a paid newsletter through Substack

Once you have a following, you can:

• Export Medium subscribers and start a free newsletter through Substack.
• With Substack you can add an option that allows people to pay you whatever they want to pay you as a goodwill gesture.
• Get your best-performing Medium articles, add them to a Substack post, make them even better than they already were, add some extra value, then add a “paywall” and send them out. This will trigger some paid subscribers.
• Note: send out maximum 1 mail per week. Preferably on Sunday, when people have the most time to read. Never spam them, this will trigger unsubscribes.

Your own website

This step is optional, but it’s always nice to have your own website.

You can simply build a nice blog website with WordPress + Elementor, there are countless of tutorials about how to do this available online.

On your own website, you’ll create links to your blog posts, YouTube videos, newsletters (yes, use Substack to send FREE newsletters), promote your digital products, and more. The more links you can provide, the better.

You want your readers to stay with you. Let them go from platform to platform, that’s okay, as long as you give them enough reason to stay.

Continue, keep going!

• Keep posting on Medium, at least 3 times per week
• Build your Medium page to 1000 followers
• Improve your digital product(s)
• Keep marketing those products through your newsletter and through your Medium content
• Add a call to action to remind people to sign up for your newsletter at the end of every article
• Once you’ve achieved your YouTube Monetization requirements, also monetize on YouTube

Affiliate Marketing

Get into affiliate marketing! I can’t stress this enough. I don’t recommend signing up for every single affiliate program you can find online, but do search for high-value products that are useful and easy to sell.

For example, when I write Print on Demand articles, I sometimes add links to tools that I use. Why? Well because I use these tools myself as well, and because I believe they can really add value to your print on demand business.

Never promote something that you don’t believe in.

I don’t promote stuff that I’ve never used because it’s impossible to provide a high-quality, honest review if you’ve never used the product.

When you sign up for and promote these affiliate programs, you will be paid a commission every time someone purchases a product through your link.

Add the links to old and new posts

Once you found and signed up for some great affiliate programs, go back to your old posts and edit them.

Also, add some links here and there to new posts.

But DON’T EXAGGERATE!

For example, in this post there are no affiliate links because… it’s not necessary. I don’t talk about any specific platforms.

Tip for YouTube:

I would highly recommend creating detailed review videos about products that you already use.

Link your affiliate link in the description to get paid every time someone purchases something through your link.

Final Thoughts

There are a million ways to make money online, but once you get started, the possibilities are endless.

Start small, with a Medium blog, and then slowly grow and create your own money-making-machine.

However, it’s very important to realize the following:

• It will not go fast!
• It will require a lot of effort, time, dedication!
• It will require sweat, hard work, patience and frustration!
• You must absolutely stand behind what you do, and believe in it.
